For the first time in its history, the University of Anbar has achieved an important achievement with its distinguished appearance as the second best Iraqi university to appear in the QS World Sustainability Ranking, achieving outstanding results in the (QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2025), which measures the extent to which global universities achieve sustainable development goals, as the university obtained the second place locally and the 475th place in Asia and (1400-1351) globally. This Ranking includes three main areas: Environmental Impact, Social Impact and Governance, and each area includes specific performance indicators.
On the other hand, the University presidency explained that it achieved the second place in Iraq in the environmental impact criterion and (324) in Asia, while in the field of social impact, the University achieved the first place in Iraq and (271) in Asia. In the last criterion (governance), the university ranked third in Iraq and (361) in Asia.
