Training workshops, Mentorship programs

The University of Anbar is launching a business incubator. Preparations are underway on a large scale, including a series of meetings and consultations with supporting companies, government institutions, and banking organizations. Collective efforts have now led to the successful launch of the inaugural conference, sponsored by University of Anbar and the United Nations World Food Programmer (WFP), aimed at operationalizing the business incubator's role. This collaborative initiative seeks to provide ambitious entrepreneurs with comprehensive support services, including training, mentoring, problem-solving assistance, and access to financial and investor networks. The incubator will also provide shared workspaces, fostering an entrepreneurial environment that encourages the exchange of ideas and experiences among like-minded individuals.

 

Establishment of a Student Support Fund

As part of the University of Anbar's commitment to the Social Solidarity Initiative, a student support fund has been established in most colleges. The Fund's main objective is to provide financial and moral support to students, with the active participation of professors who contribute funds. Furthermore, representatives from different levels of education participate in the confidential identification of students with limited incomes to ensure their inclusion in the Fund's program.  University of Anbar's Student Support Fund plays a vital role in providing diverse forms of financial assistance to university students facing economic difficulties that can hinder their academic journey. Through an accurate evaluation process, UNFPA reviews students' requests and applies specific criteria to determine their eligibility for financial assistance.

 

Free Transportation & Services

The University of Anbar offers free transportation services to facilitate mobility within its campus and from the central campus to the external parking lot and to other campuses. This initiative aims to support students and staff by providing convenient transportation on and off campus. Through these free transportation services, individuals at the University of Anbar can easily access various campus facilities and enjoy smooth mobility throughout the university's premises.

 

World Food Day

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Anbar the College of Medicine at the University of Anbar, in collaboration with the Department of Student Activities, organized a series of activities on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, to commemorate World Food Day. The event aimed to support destitute employees, workers, and students, along with needy families residing across Anbar Governorate, by providing them with food baskets.

 

Food Industries Factory

The University of Anbar has established a food industry factory to promote the sustainable development of its agricultural products. The Food Industries Laboratory of the College of Agriculture was opened by the Rector and the President expressed his unwavering support for projects aimed at providing students from interior departments and local markets with processed meat and chicken products, while also competing with imported goods. The Dean of the College of Agriculture stressed that the primary objective of the Food Industries Laboratory is to enhance the practical experience of bachelor's and postgraduate students, enable them to apply their skills and be well prepared to set up their own projects at graduation. This will generate jobs for many graduates and provide subsidized food supplies for students within the university's interior departments.

Employment and Follow-up Center

The University of Anbar’s College of Medicine organized a donation campaign with the purpose of preparing food baskets. These food baskets were subsequently distributed to the families of eligible students by the dedicated staff of the college. The university actively supports students who belong to the bottom 20% of the household income group, offering them assistance and resources to address any financial challenges they may encounter. Through initiatives like these, the University of Anbar strives to ensure the well-being of its students and provide the necessary support for their academic journey.

 

Support students

Aligned with the University of Anbar's objectives to support students who face economic hardship and aspire to pursue medical studies, the university is committed to providing assistance to those below the poverty line. Following the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, eligible students can continue to apply for free scholarships that cover the expenses of admission to medical programs offered by private universities and colleges. The University of Anbar is dedicated to ensuring equal educational opportunities for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, enabling them to realize their academic ambitions in the medical field.

 

Food Industry

The President of the University of Anbar officially inaugurated a cutting-edge food industries laboratory at the College of Agriculture. During the ceremony, The President expressed his firm commitment to supporting projects that contribute to the production of processed food, specifically meat and chicken, to meet the demands of the university's internal departments and the local market. The goal is to foster healthy competition with imported products. The Dean of the College of Agriculture elaborated on the laboratory's primary objective of enhancing the practical skills and experience of students at all levels of study. This practical training will equip them for future endeavors and enable them to establish their own ventures after graduation, thereby creating job opportunities for fellow graduates. Additionally, the laboratory will provide subsidized food items to meet the dietary needs of students within the university. And , highlighted the significance of the university's reputation and the community's trust in its products, especially given the rigorous supervision by experts from the Food Department at the College of Agriculture.

 

Free lunch for poor boarding students

The University of Anbar, in collaboration with its staff from multiple colleges, implemented a commendable initiative of providing free lunch meals to financially disadvantaged students within the internal departments. This initiative aimed to alleviate financial burdens and enable students to focus more on their studies. The President of the University of Anbar personally visited the internal departments during the examination period to assess the students' well-being. As part of a dedicated program to optimize study time, the university administration issued an official order to ensure that all students receive a lunch meal throughout their exam period. This initiative reflects the university's commitment to supporting its students and creating a Conducive learning environment.

 

Converting daily workers and lecturers into ministerial contracts

The University of Anbar has recently made a noteworthy announcement regarding the conversion of daily workers and lecturers into ministerial contracts. This decision is in accordance with the directives set by the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. As a result, staff members from various faculties and self-financing accounts within the university have been successfully transitioned into ministerial contracts. The implementation of resolutions (315 and 337) by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers has facilitated this conversion process. By undertaking this initiative, the University of Anbar aims to enhance stability and improve employment conditions for its workforce, thereby fostering a conductive environment for academic excellence.

 

Free meals for students

University of Anbar always makes free meals for students of internal departments. These meals are continuous every year, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

 

Summer Internship Program

The Rehabilitation and Employment Center at the University of Anbar, in collaboration with the Media and Communications Commission, is thrilled to announce the launch of the Summer Internship Program for graduating students. This program aims to promote cooperation between various state institutions, offering support to young individuals and equipping them with the necessary skills for the job market. We are delighted to introduce this year's virtual summer training program, covering a wide range of unique topics. The program is exclusively available to students of the University of Anbar, specifically those from the designated colleges. Prospective graduates must fulfill the following conditions to participate.
